Binta Nango

Binta Nango was born in Bandiagara, Dogon Country, Mali, and is based in Bamako. Also known as Princess Indigo, she is an African fashion designer who uses the traditional fabric of her hometown: Dogon indigo. A descendant of the large Nango family, Binta has known since childhood how to spin cotton, sew fastenings, embroider symbols, and dye fabrics. This heritage fuels her passion, leading her to prestigious international events where she exhibits her inspired and innovative creations. She received the award for best textile designer at Malifiniw 2026.
