OUR mission

IMPRESSIONS DE TERRE Inc.

is a cultural organization that promotes the art and culture of the Mandinka of West Africa.
WE VALUE

Traditional knowledge

and supports contemporary expression, the creation of exhibitions, performances, and workshops focused on textile art, wood carving, puppetry, musical instruments, rhythm, dance, song, storytelling, poetry, and literature. We facilitate artistic exchanges between Canada, West Africa and the World.

OUR VISION

SHARE

The short- and medium-term vision of this initiative is to enable Malian artists and master craftspeople to come to Canada to share and teach their knowledge through artist residencies, creative projects, and masterclasses. Within this framework of knowledge exchange, Canadians will be able to travel to West Africa. Several of these objectives will be supported by the implementation of projects such as the International Textile Art Festival, an intercultural exchange project bringing together leading experts in the field; the African Week project, offering a comprehensive educational program for young people aged 6 to 15; the Bogolan-Indigo textile training project for adults, beginners and experts; and the Ancestral Stories project, a theatrical and musical experience between West African and Canadian artists.
