Aboubacar Konaré

A sculptor based in Bamako, Mali, he is a rich heir to traditional wood carving. From the age of 10, he was already mastering the art of the catelet (a type of wooden tool). He improves his skills alongside his father and family at the Bamako craft market, where he quickly distinguished himself through his talent and creativity. He perfectly illuminates the wood's inherent richness, and his creations are inspired and original, seamlessly blending traditional and contemporary arts. He is a remarkable master.
